Chaise Lounges

Outdoor chaise lounge materials

Most outdoor chaise lounges here are solid acacia wood, a dense hardwood that handles weather well when cared for. A few are finished in a teak color, which is a stain and not teak wood.

Some use resin wicker, HDPE plastic, aluminum, steel or iron, so you can choose between warm wood and lower-maintenance materials.

Chaise lounge cushions and comfort

Some chaise lounges include cushions, usually in fabric. Cushions add comfort for long afternoons, and they come in neutral shades as well as brighter colors.

Others come without a cushion, so you can pair them with your own chaise lounge cushions. Most have an adjustable backrest so you can sit up to read or lie nearly flat.

Double chaise lounge and single sizes

A double chaise lounge seats two side by side, so it is wider than a single lounger and needs more room beside it. The longest models on this page measure about 80 inches, which fits most adults lying down.

Select models are sold as sets of two, so you can furnish a poolside or deck with matching pieces. Measure your space first, since a lounger needs room to recline, and leave a little extra beside it for a small side table or a place to set your drink and towel.

Pool lounge chair materials and care

A pool lounge chair should shrug off water and sun, so HDPE, aluminum and resin wicker are practical choices. Some models have wheels so you can roll them to the sun or into storage.

Rinse off pool water or sunscreen with mild soap and water, let cushions dry before storing them, and cover or store loungers in winter. Wood loungers also benefit from a fresh coat of sealer every year or two, which helps the finish hold up in sun and spray.
