Brown, simple and open, this wood pergola kit is a quiet frame for a patio. The minimalist grid on top lets sunlight through and gives grapes, ivy, passionflower or morning glory something to climb.

Fir wood posts, diagonal braces and beams form the frame, and metal L-plates with expansion screws are included. It measures 143.8 inches wide and 118 inches deep, with a height of 84.8 inches. The beams overhead keep the view open to the sky. One tip from the instructions: keep screws at least 0.6 inches from the edge of a wood plate, or the plate can crack.

Construction: solid fir.
