Burgundy velvet, four seats and an ottoman: this Chesterfield is set up for long evenings in the living room. Four people sit, and the ottoman gives someone a place to put their feet up.

The design borrows its tufted back, nailhead trim and rolled arms from classic Chesterfields, then trims the proportions in a mid-century direction. The deep red velvet has a soft touch and a light sheen.

Inside the seats, springs and high-density sponge work together, and each seat is rated for up to 300 pounds. Pine and wood make up the frame, which is built to resist sagging over years of use.

Construction: velvet and solid wood in a burgundy finish.

• Seat height 16.5 in
