Vegan leather, named plainly

Every chair in this range is upholstered in vegan leather, which is the honest name for the PU and synthetic leathers used across this category. It is not animal hide, and calling it faux or technical leather obscures rather than describes. What it gives you is a surface that wipes clean with a damp cloth, holds its colour, and reads more formal than mesh, which is why it suits a chair visible from the rest of the house or on a video call.

Weight rating comes first

Weight rating is the first spec to check and the one most often skipped. Chairs in this range carry stated ratings from 220 up to 500 pounds, and the figure is on each listing. A chair used near its rating wears its gas cylinder and base far faster than one used well inside it, so if the chair is for someone at the upper end of a rating, move up a model rather than buying to the limit. Adjustment and support

Most chairs in this range adjust for seat height, which is what lets a chair pair correctly with a 29 to 30 inch desk: set it so the forearms sit level with the surface and the feet are flat. Caring for vegan leather

Keep the chair out of prolonged direct sunlight, which hardens and eventually cracks a synthetic surface. Casters and the floor underneath

Casters are matched to the floor, not to the chair. A hard caster rolls easily on carpet and can mark a hard floor; a softer caster grips a hard floor and drags on carpet.
