Outdoor Bar Stools

Outdoor counter height bar stools and bar height fit

Outdoor counter height bar stools have a seat about two feet high for a counter near 36 inches, while bar height stools have a seat of about 30 inches for a taller bar. Listed seat heights here run 28 to 29.5 inches on the models that publish one.

Leave about a foot between the seat and the underside of the counter, and check the seat height on each listing. Overall stool heights here run from 27.8 to 51.2 inches, so a tall back does not always mean a tall seat.

Outdoor swivel bar stools

Outdoor swivel bar stools turn so you can face a guest or step out without sliding the stool back. Some models here swivel, so confirm it on the listing if you want that feature. A swivel seat is handy at an island or bar where you talk with people on both sides.

Outdoor metal bar stools: aluminum, steel and iron

Outdoor metal bar stools make up most of this page, with aluminum, steel or iron frames. Aluminum is rust-resistant, while steel and iron do best with a protective coating that you touch up if it chips.

Slim frames keep metal stools light, and colors on this page include gray, black, blue and brown.

Outdoor wicker bar stools and other materials

Outdoor wicker bar stools use resin (synthetic) wicker woven over a frame. Other stools are solid acacia wood or HDPE, a resin that resists moisture and UV.

Check the quantity on each listing before ordering, since stools may be sold singly or as a set.

Patio bar stools: cushions, folding and care

Patio bar stools come in styles with cushions included, folding frames for storage, or plain seats that wipe clean. Select models fold for storage, and some include cushions.

Store cushions inside during rain and winter, and cover the stools or move them to a dry spot for the off season.
