Pulling the canopy back is how you change the mood under this dark gray pergola. The retractable polyester canopy slides on a pulley system, balancing sun and shade, and a sloping design helps water run off.

It is meant to go against a wall, where it saves space and looks like part of the house. The aluminum frame is powder-coated, and a magnet system keeps the canopy fixed when fully extended. It measures 156 inches wide by 110.4 inches deep and stands 100.8 inches tall, about 9.2 by 13 feet, with room for lounge chairs or a conversation set.

Construction: aluminum frame and polyester.
