A raised lip runs round the edge of the top with four pen holes drilled into each side. The lip stops books sliding off; the holes stop pens rolling. Neither costs much to design and almost nothing has both.

Two deep drawers seal properly, and a shelf underneath takes boxes, folders and the things that would otherwise cover the surface. Solid wood throughout in walnut, 47.24 by 23.62 inches. Tools and a clear manual are included.
